Try it like this:
Create a polygon with 20 corners and without overlapping and save it as temp figure. Use the stretch line tool and select the bottom on the top. You will get a new figure which needs to be saved again.
In the first frame the figure just consists of points and in the following frames the points are becoming a lines. By selecting the frames you can determine the frames and you can choose the length of the line as well as of the gap. Select a frame and copy it. Generate a new figure and paste the frame.
